Bhuvan Shome is a 1969 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Mrinal Sen. Sen based his film on a Bengali story by Banaphool. The film explores the lyrical forces of transformation that touch the life of a strict, western educated Bengali Civil servant  leading a mundane disenchanted life, when he decides to go duck hunting in a remote Gujarati village.
